The Wedding Sales Manager is responsible to market, sell and finalize the contractual relationship between the Wedding Venue client and Pursell Farms. This will involve developing relationships with the bride and groom and their families from conceptual ideas to the first telephone contact, tour of the facilities, to the conclusion of the event. The Wedding Sales Manager will also be responsible for representing Pursell Farms at marketing and vendor promotional events to meet and network with bridal consultants and events planners to make them aware of our full range of services. They will work closely with Director of Sales to ensure that all appropriate markets are identified and that all inquiries receive the full attention and follow through to complete the process. They will strive to model the Pursell Farms core values in the completion of their work.                               

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

    • Design, prepare and update marketing materials to showcase Pursell Farms and especially the Hamilton Place venue
    • Network with Bridal and Events Planners and other related wedding vendors to ensure they have full knowledge of the wedding venue and all amenities offered
    • Contact potential clients and remain in close contact with them via phone, email or in person meetings during the decision- making process
    • Establish relationships with clients and book events to meet or exceed established sales goals
    • Conduct site tours
    • Prepare and present completed contracts for weddings
    • Upsell food and beverage, lodging and other events as part of the package and to meet goals
    • Gather and share knowledge of current cutting edge wedding trends to potential clients
  • Coordinate and host vendor appointments and menu tastings with clients, including weekends or after hours

 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional vendors; communicate effectively and efficiently with vendors via email and phone; respond to all vendors and prospective vendors within 24 hours of contact when feasible
  • Consistently work to exceed client's expectations by proactively anticipating their needs
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to ensure accuracy in press releases and all marketing materials that promote wedding services
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of Pursell Farms and all amenities that are offered
  • Work with Catering Manager to create Banquet Event Orders for all weddings.
  • Provide Banquet Event Orders to clients in a timely manner for approval prior to event. Distribute information to all appropriate departments prior to the event per regular time frame protocol
  • Consistently communicate with the Banquet Coordinator, Banquet Staff and Chefs regarding event requirements, timing and special requests
  • Serve as "Day Of" contact for Wedding Planners/Wedding Party
  • Perform all other duties as required

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hotel and Restaurant Management or similar field of study required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a Wedding Sales Manager/Events PlannerSkills and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to identify, contact and sell Pursell Farms to prospective clients for their wedding venue
  • Knowledge of the wedding planning process
  • Ability to create and develop collateral materials for marketing efforts to feature and sell the wedding venue
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to stay calm in pressure situations and be a problem solver
  • Ability to interact with clients and guests in a courteous, professional manner
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and long hours in to ensure the event runs smoothly and without incident
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Delphi and other proprietary software programs
  • Ability to exceed sales goals
  • Ability to develop and sustain a strong network in pursuit of sales goals
  • Ability to work enthusiastically with other departments for the successful outcome of the event
